Formation of Scarborough Town Council
The establishment of a new town council on 1st April 2025 represents a significant advancement in local governance for Scarborough residents in the five wards of Castle, Falsgrave & Stepney, Northstead, Weaponess & Ramshill and Woodlands. A key factor in its success will be the collaborative engagement with residents to understand their local priorities. While the Town Council will need to determine its strategic direction, mission, and goals, there will be an emphasis on intensifying the voice of Scarborough residents.
A total of 15 councillors will be elected, with three councillors representing each of the five wards on 1st May 2025. An Interim clerk has been appointed to operationally prepare the town council; with its inaugural annual town council meeting scheduled for 14th May 2025.
